#HaIGotMelanin (Passive Racist White People Are Scary)

Good morning! Rise and shine! Today is the day that after the pouring rain the sun will shine through, I guarantee it. Yesterday was a rough day for me too. These #HaIGotMelanin blogs will be a theme of my experiences and stories of different titles and interests. Starting off today just right, sitting at my desk as I watch the sun set over the mountains. Trying to be a better me each day, wondering what it is like to not be scared of passive racist white people? Have you ever wondered what it’s like to just say what’s on your mind to the passive racist white people around you? Its the indirectness that sets me off the most. I find myself being more apologetic about my blackness to a passive racist than I would if someone directly said “I don’t like you because you’re black”. I get timid and want to hide. The looks and the stares feel so much more powerful. I ride the bus everyday to get to work, and the bus driver is a white lady. Of course who am I to say she’s racist. I say so based on those looks. The look of my skin being the hate that lies within her. Or being treated as if I don’t have enough money to pay for my ride. Oh and god forbid the goodmornings she selectively gives out to her white comrades who ride the bus as well. Yet I wonder what the other ppl of color think about those interactions they make with here. Am I wrong? Does anyone else feel this way? Love yourself, and have an awesome day. Peace and Love✌ #IrelateIunderstandIgetit
